Titanic sammenlignet med et moderne cruiseskip Mye har endret seg siden Titanic satte seil i 1912 og frem til i dag. I dag er cruiseskip større, men hvor mye større? Titanic var et passasjerskip, ferdigstilt i 1912 for den britiske White Star Line. Med 46 328 bruttotonn var Titanic på dette tidspunktet verdens største skip. Den ble satt i drift på ruten Southampton - New York. Moderne cruiseskip er i gjennomsnitt dobbelt så høye og 20% lenger enn Titanic. Titanic var bare 269 meter lang, 9 dekk høy og hadde en bruttotonnasje på 46.000. Til    sammenligning er avrage Royal Caribbian cruise 325 meter langt, 14 dekk høyt og har en bruttotonnasje på 133.000. The Titanic Compared With a Modern Cruiseship A lot has changed since the Titanic set sail in 1912 until today. Today Cruise ships are larger, but how much bigger? The Titanic was a passenger ship, completed in 1912 for the British White Star Line. At 46,328 gross tons, the Titanic was at this time the world's largest ship. It was put into operation on the Southampton – New York route. Modern cruise ships are, on average, twice as high and 20% longer than the Titanic. T he Titanic was only 269 meters long, 9 decks high, and had a gross tonnage of 46,000.
